Frequently Asked Questions:
Why should I detail my vehicles?
It is essential to condition and seal all surfaces of your vehicles to protect them from weather induced elements such as radiation from the sun, moisture, industrial fallout, dirt, road grime, and light abrasions. Detailing will protect your paint, metals, rubber, plastics, vinyl, and leather from costly repairs or replacement and will keep your vehicle looking its best.
What products do you use?
We use a variety of professional grade products and cleaners. All biodegradeable.
What should I do if I have bird droppings, sap or any other tree pitch on my vehicle?
Wash it off immediately. Bird droppings and sap are terrible for you vehicle’s finish. Prolonged exposure to these, will leave an etch in your clear coat. An etch is a basically an exact outline of where the contaminant was. The only way to remove an etch, is to wet sand and buff the affected area. If the contaminant is left too long, and the etch is too deep, the only resolution is paint.
Can you tailor a package to fit my budget?
Yes. If you have a certain budget that you do not want to exceed, we will analyze the car and come up with something together.
What size vehicle do I have?
Please call or e-mail us with your make and model and we will let you know what category your vehicle falls under.
I was offered a 5-year paint sealant from my dealership. They told me I wouldn't need to wax my car for 5 years, is this true?
If you have purchased a new car over the past few years, you may have been offered a 5-year paint sealant package, or something similar. The package comes with a hefty price tag though, ranging from $500 to more than $1500. They claim that after this product is applied to the vehicle's paint, it does not need to be polished or waxed for five years. The truth is, there is no product on the market that can stand up to these lavish claims. Not even newer cars with a clear coat paint layer - sprayed on at the factory - can resist scratches or degradation over this period of time. If there was such a product, believe us, we would offer it as a service to you. Read the fine print. It states the sealant must be applied 2-4 times a year and it is not responsible for sap and bird droppings that are left on the paint for an extended time.
What happens if it rains on my appointment day?
As stated in our inclement weather policy, if the weather is too bad, we will simply reschedule the service for a later date at the convenience of the customer.
How long does paint sealant last?
Typically, 1 year (compared to many other waxes that last 1-2 months!). We suggest a paint sealant every year.
My car is new, do I still need it detailed?
Absolutely! New cars have usually been sitting on the lot or have been in transit for months before you drive away with them. New car dealerships rarely carry out full details on new vehicles, so there is a plethora of contaminants on your car's paint. Having your new car detailed will start you off on the right foot and ensure there is a proper layer of wax or sealant on the paint.
How long in advance do I need to schedule an appointment?
A couple days notice is acceptable. However, weekends tend to fill up first. You can always try for the same day because we do get cancellations.
How long will the job take?
Complete jobs (both interior and exterior) will generally take between 2 to 3 hours from the time we
start the detailing of your vehicle. If you arrange to have you vehicle done by a particular time we make sure that we have the tools available to get the job done by the time requested. However, some vehicle conditions require additional attention (and time).
I don’t like surprises. Are there any extra charges?
We charge for our services based on an assumed time frame for the size of your vehicle. There are certain conditions that may need a significant amount of additional time, as well as services that we can offer that are not included in our base packages.
I left a window down while it was raining and now have mold and mildew growing in my vehicle. How do I get rid of it?
Molds and mildews can be a particularly vicious problem, both for those with asthma or respiratory ailments as well as the damage they can do to the material. Our technicians will give you your options depending on extent of the damage.
